Berenice Hernandez, sixteen years old, born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, fought in North Carolina on Friday the 18th of June in the finals of the National Junior Olympics Championships. In the final bout for the gold, Berenice takes on Dacia Villa, from Garland, Texas. After round one Berenice is ahead with the score of 11 to 1. In round two Berenice scores 15 points to 2 along with a standing 8 count. In round three she scored 7 to 1 with yet another standing 8 count almost achieving a KO victory. After it was all over Berenice obtained the highest winning score throughout the whole event: 33 to 4. The girls that fought in her weight class averaged between 25 to 30 fights on record. Berenice had only 7 fights previous. Berenice Hernandez fights out of the Center Ring Boxing gym managed by Jose Banales with trainer Mark Cordova. She stands undefeated with two tournament belts and now she's the 110 pound Junior Olympics National Gold Medalist.
